Kerala CM condemns RSS song on Vande Bharat

New Delhi | Desk: A major controversy has erupted over school children singing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) anthem on the Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has described the Southern Railway's action as "highly condemnable" and "unacceptable."

The incident occurred shortly after the train departed from Ernakulam. The video, which the Southern Railway initially uploaded as a "patriotic song," was then removed following the controversy.

However, the Railways later reposted the video, stating that the children performed a song from their school (Saraswati Vidyaniketan Public School, which is run by a trust affiliated with the RSS).

Vijayan tweeted that including an RSS song, which "spreads hatred against other religions and communally divisive politics," in a government program violates constitutional principles.

He said that Southern Railway also mocked the Indian national movement by calling the video a "patriotic song." The controversy comes at a time when the Congress party is accusing the BJP of promoting RSS ideology at official events.
