Bajrang dal warns garba organisers, seeks 14-point guidelines
Bajrang Dal has urged Raipur administration to ensure security, religious decorum and police deployment at Garba venues
Raipur | Correspondent: Bajrang Dal has warned organisers of Garba events during Navratri, stating that Garba is a religious event and should not be treated only as entertainment or a commercial programme.
Raipur District Coordinator Bhushan Sahu said it is important to maintain religious decorum during Garba events. He warned that the organisation would oppose events if organisers failed to follow these standards. He also said that they know how to deal with those who do not listen to reason.
Bajrang Dal has demanded that the district administration issue clear guidelines for Garba committees. The guidelines should cover 14 points related to security and other arrangements, including a ban on the entry of non-Hindus.
Demand for stronger security for women at Garba venues
In a memorandum submitted to the District Magistrate, Bajrang Dal demanded strong security arrangements for women and girls at Garba venues.
The organisation called for separate entry and exit points, identity card checks, security checks, CCTV cameras and the deployment of female security personnel. It also demanded a system for taking immediate action on complaints.
The organisation said that if there is any molestation, indecent behaviour or dispute at a Garba venue, organisers should not take action themselves. They should immediately inform the police.
Organisers asked to inform police and administration
The memorandum also stresses the need to maintain religious decorum during Garba events. It calls for a ban on obscene or objectionable activities, slogans and songs.
Organisers have been told not to take the law into their own hands or encourage the crowd to act against anyone in case of a dispute. Instead, they should immediately inform the police and administration.
Bajrang Dal has also demanded fire safety measures, electrical safety arrangements, emergency exits, first-aid facilities and proper crowd management at Garba venues.
Demand for police deployment
The organisation has urged the administration to inspect major Garba venues across the city and deploy police personnel wherever required.
The memorandum says these measures are needed to maintain religious decorum during Navratri and ensure the safety of women, girls and devotees. For this purpose, Bajrang Dal has asked the administration to issue clear guidelines covering 14 specific points to all Garba committees.
