Glorifying Hidma is ‘Dangerous Mindset’, says Amit Jogi

Durg | Correspondent: Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) state president Amit Jogi, speaking to the media during his visit to Durg on November 24, strongly criticized the state government. He addressed the ongoing political debate over Naxalism and Maoist commander Madvi Hidma, expressing concern over the government's "silence on important issues."

Reacting strongly to recent political statements related to Hidma, Jogi called the Maoist leader an "enemy of the state" and said he did not deserve any mention or discussion. He said, "Those who do not believe in the Constitution and reject democratic principles do not deserve any respect. Even mentioning such a person is inappropriate."

Jogi argued that attempts to portray Hidma as a hero or martyr reflect a "dangerous and misguided mindset." He said that India's democracy is based on the ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi, and glorifying individuals who promote violence and anti-constitutional activities cannot be tolerated.

Targeting the state BJP government, Jogi alleged that its primary agenda is solely to benefit the Adani Group. He claimed that the government is implementing a three-phase plan to transfer Chhattisgarh's valuable assets to private hands, two phases of which have already been completed.

According to him, preparations are underway to hand over coal mines in northern Chhattisgarh to the Adani Group, as well as assets related to the cement, steel, and power sectors.

He further alleged that the iron ore reserves in southern Chhattisgarh are also in the process of being transferred to the same group. Jogi warned that such policies could have a serious impact on the state's economy and natural resources.

Speaking on Naxalism, Jogi stressed that the Maoists are now retreating and are close to defeat. He said, "When they have already lost the battle, there is no relevance in discussing surrender." He said that the issue should not be politicized and insisted that the fight against Naxalism should continue to its logical conclusion.
