Forest fires break out in Jashpur, multiple areas affected
Forest fires spread rapidly in Jashpur district
Jashpurnagar | Correspondent: Forest fires have increased rapidly in Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur district as temperatures rise. On Thursday, around 3 PM, a major fire broke out in the forests of Jabla under the Jashpur Forest Division, causing panic in nearby areas.
While forest staff were trying to control the blaze, fire incidents were also reported from three different locations in the Badalkhol Sanctuary area.
Officials suspect that the fires may not be natural. They believe some miscreants may have deliberately set dry forest areas on fire.
Strong winds and high heat are helping the fire spread quickly, putting forests, medicinal plants, and wildlife at risk.
Forest department data show that around 120 fire incidents, both small and large, have already been reported in Badalkhol Sanctuary this season, raising serious concerns for forest protection efforts.
