Raipur | Correspondent: The Chhattisgarh government is set to launch a rigorous, state-wide inspection drive aimed at identifying and repatriating foreign nationals residing illegally and unauthorized infiltrators. This special two-month campaign will be conducted from November 15, 2026, to January 15, 2027.
Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma has issued detailed guidelines for curbing, tracking, and monitoring illegal migration networks. The primary objective of this initiative is to identify and deport foreign nationals specifically illegal Bangladeshi nationals who are residing in the state unlawfully.
To this end, the state administration is organizing specialized training modules for nodal officers in every district and is working to gather intelligence at the grassroots level.
As part of this operation, intensive verification drives will be carried out in industrial corridors, at the sites of labor contractors, and at transit hubs. Furthermore, networks and gangs that provide shelter to infiltrators or facilitate the creation of forged identity documents will be dismantled.
The campaign will focus primarily on industrial zones, construction sites, cottage industries (including jaggery production units), rental properties, hotels, and lodges. The Deputy Chief Minister has warned contractors and business owners against employing unauthorized foreign nationals for the sake of cheap labor. Instructions have been issued to map out and inspect suspicious locations within industrial hubs such as Raipur, Korba, and Raigarh.
The action plan also involves engaging *Gram Sabhas* in rural areas and ward councilors in urban areas to report any suspicious individuals. Street vendors and migrant laborers arriving from outside the state will be required to register with the office of the respective Superintendent of Police (SP) before commencing any work.
A dedicated software platform will be utilized to facilitate the sharing of intelligence across districts, maintaining records of suspicious individuals, ongoing investigations, and the verification of official documents. Intermediaries involved in the creation of forged passports and identity documents will be investigated, and these fraudulent documents will be invalidated in coordination with central authorities.
