Raipur | Correspondent: A significant Cabinet meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, concluded on Wednesday at the Mantralaya (Secretariat), Mahanadi Bhawan. During this meeting, several key decisions regarding the state's development, sports, and administrative reforms were taken. The Cabinet's most significant decision pertains to fuel supply within the state's urban areas.

The Council of Ministers has given the green signal to the ‘Chhattisgarh Urban Gas Distribution Policy, 2026.’ The primary objective of this policy is to ensure the availability of clean and affordable Piped Natural Gas (PNG) across the state. This is expected to prove to be a cost-effective alternative to LPG for the general public.

This initiative will facilitate the uninterrupted supply of gas through pipelines; furthermore, the expansion of pipeline infrastructure is expected to attract large-scale investment into the state and generate new employment opportunities.

To promote sports, the Cabinet has decided to allocate land to the Rajnandgaon District Cricket Association for the construction of a modern sports ground and a cricket academy. Under this decision, 5 acres of land, registered under the name of the Suryamukhi Devi Rajgami Sampada, will be made available at a concessional rate.

To provide immediate relief to the needy, the Council of Ministers has sanctioned funds from the Chief Minister's Discretionary Grant. A total assistance amount of approximately ₹11.98 crore (₹11,98,84,000) has been released to 6,809 individuals and institutions. This decision was taken to foster social support and provide a source of strength to people facing difficult circumstances.

In a significant administrative decision, the Cabinet has, following a review, revoked the demotion orders issued in 2019 concerning three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the 1988 batch: Sanjay Pillay, R.K. Vij, and Mukesh Gupta. During the meeting, it was decided to set aside the previous decision dated September 24, 2019, and to restore the status quo that existed before that date.
