CGRERA fines Raipur landowners ₹5 lakh for selling plots without RERA registration
Raipur | Correspondent: The Chhattisgarh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (CGRERA) has taken strict action against two landowners in Raipur for selling plots without RERA registration, imposing a total fine of Rs. 5 lakh. This action was taken for violating the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.
According to the authority, landowners Govardhan and Ramanuj were developing a plot scheme called "Om Farm" in the Lakholi railway station area and were advertising, promoting, and selling plots without valid RERA registration.
This activity is a clear violation of Section 3 of the Act, which prohibits the promotion, booking, or sale of any real estate project without registration.
After investigating the matter, examining the documents, and conducting a hearing, CGRERA found that the landowners had violated the law. Consequently, a total fine of Rs. 5 lakh was imposed on both of them.
The authority warned that in the future, any kind of plotting, advertising, or sale without RERA registration will be considered a serious legal offense, and more stringent legal action will be taken in such cases.
