Kabirdham: missing youth found dead in mine

Kabirdham | Correspondent: The body of a 25-year-old man was found on Saturday morning inside a mine at a stone crusher plant in Kabirdham district, raising suspicion of a possible accident or foul play.

The deceased has been identified as Deepak Tiwari, a resident of Gaormati, who was living in Shanti Nagar under the Sahaspur Lohara police station area.

Police said the body was recovered from a mine located within a crusher plant in Shanti Nagar. His motorcycle was also found near the spot.

Deepak had gone missing on the night of May 21. After a search by his family, a missing person report was filed at the Lohara police station on May 22.

Locals spotted the body on Saturday morning and informed the police, following which officials reached the spot and sent the body for a post-mortem.

Police said the case appears suspicious. While initial observations suggest the man may have fallen into the mine while riding his motorcycle, other angles, such as suicide or murder, are also being investigated.

Officials said the exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report.

The incident has left the family in shock and grief, while locals have demanded a fair and thorough investigation. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and are probing the matter.
