According to reports, the children's mother, a resident of Belgahna (Bilaspur), worked at the warehouse to support her family after the death of her husband. On Tuesday evening, around 4 pm, while she was working, the two brothers were playing nearby.

While playing, the children started removing chickpeas from the sacks, which caused the sacks to become unstable and the heavy sacks fell directly on top of them.

The laborers present immediately removed the sacks and pulled the children out, but they were already unconscious. They were immediately rushed to the Bhatapara Community Health Center, where doctors declared them dead.

The preliminary medical report indicates that the cause of death was suffocation. Following the incident, fellow laborers have alleged a lack of safety measures at the workplace.

The Bhatapara Rural Police Station has registered a case and has initiated an investigation into the negligence of the warehouse management. The police have stated that if the investigation confirms a violation of safety regulations, strict action will be taken against those responsible.
