New Delhi | Desk: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet in connection with the 2024 attack on a CRPF camp in Chhattisgarh. This new chargesheet names six additional accused individuals, most notably including three absconding Naxalites: Avalam Bhima, Madkam Nanda, and Madkam Deva (alias Ratan).

One of these accused individuals is also reported to be a member of the Special Zonal Committee. Cases have been registered against all of them under stringent sections of the UAPA, the IPC, the Arms Act, and the Explosive Substances Act.

Following this latest action, the total number of individuals charged by the NIA in this case has now risen to 23.

Before this, a chargesheet was filed against 17 Naxalites in June of last year.

The investigation has yielded a sensational revelation: before the attack, the Naxalites had constructed a "dummy replica" of the Dharmavaram camp to conduct training exercises and had also carried out a thorough reconnaissance of the site.

On January 16, 2024, Naxalites launched a fierce assault using improvised Barrel Grenade Launchers (BGLs) and automatic weapons against three CRPF camps located in Dharmavaram, Chintavagu, and Pamed in the Bijapur district, leaving a dozen personnel injured. According to the NIA, the objective behind this entire conspiracy was to kill security personnel, loot weapons, and wage war against the Government of India.
