According to the villagers, the elephants entered Rathiya's hut when he was guarding the farm.

On hearing the sound of an elephant coming, somehow Ramprasad escaped and tried to run away. Later on, he was heartbroken after seeing the damage and plight of his home.

Rathiya said, not just the house, grains and harvested crops, but also his vehicle, which was kept outside his home, was attacked.

Everything was over for him, he added.

An entire year’s effort was destroyed in a single incident.

Villagers said the situation in the village has now become frightening, as they never know when a herd might enter the village and destroy the fields or homes.

Besides, there is also constant fear within that such incidents might also lead to loss of lives.

To prevent such damage, villagers stay awake all night and try to drive the elephants back into the dense forest.
