Raipur | Correspondent: Government schools in Chhattisgarh reopened on Monday after the summer vacation. In several schools across Raipur, Bilaspur, Jagdalpur, Raigarh, Durg-Bhilai, Korba, and Sarguja, teachers welcomed students with a traditional "tilak" ceremony. Some schools also distributed chocolates and sweets to the children.

Education department officials stated that a "School Admission Festival" (Shala Pravesh Utsav) will be held at the block level on June 18 and at the district level on June 20.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has written letters to all public representatives in the state, urging them to actively participate in the School Admission Festival. The aim of the program is to strengthen the education sector and ensure 100% school enrollment of children across the state.

In his letter, the Chief Minister emphasized that although making the state 100% literate is a challenging goal, it is not impossible. He said that to make the "impossible possible," collective and meaningful efforts from all sections of society are essential. He stressed that no child should be left out of school, and timely school admissions for all children must be ensured.

Meanwhile, the state government has asserted that there is not a single school in Chhattisgarh that is without a teacher. For several months, the government has been undertaking a rationalization process.

According to the Education Department, earlier around 212 primary schools and 48 upper primary schools in the state were without teachers. Additionally, 6,872 primary schools and 255 upper primary schools were being run by just one teacher.

There were 211 schools with zero student enrollment where teachers were still posted. Moreover, 166 schools have been merged, including 133 in rural areas with fewer than 10 students, and 33 in urban areas with fewer than 30 students.
