Monsoon Set to Revive in Chhattisgarh
Raipur | Correspondent: The monsoon is expected to become active once again in Chhattisgarh today. According to the Meteorological Department, if the monsoon progresses beyond the Bastar region, it is likely to reach Raipur by June 16 or 17.
Initially, rainfall will be limited to one or two locations, but it is expected to gradually intensify and spread across various districts of Central and Northern Chhattisgarh in the following days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for all districts in the state, warning of thunderstorms and lightning. Citizens are advised to take necessary precautions, especially during outdoor activities.
In addition, there is a forecast of strong gusty winds in Raipur, Durg, and three other districts, potentially disrupting normal life and causing temporary power outages or minor infrastructural damage in some areas.
On Saturday, Bilaspur recorded the highest temperature in the state at 40.4°C, while Durg was the coolest at 25°C, indicating significant temperature variation across regions.
The delayed onset and erratic nature of this year’s monsoon have led to increased humidity and heat stress, particularly in interior parts of Chhattisgarh.
