'Operation Talash', a landmark success

Raigarh | Correspondent: In a recent initiative named 'Operation Talash' in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district ensuring safe return of missing persons has proven to be landmark success.

Under the guidance of SSP Shashi Mohan Singh, the district police demonstrated both a humane approach and professional diligence, successfully reuniting a total of 251 individuals with their families during the month of April.

This campaign was headed by Additional SP Anil Soni and DSP Unnati Thakur.

As per the police official records, a total of 23 cases of missing minors were registered during April, and the police team's proactive efficiency then safely recorded 36 children. Additionally, 215 adults were located and retrieved from various locations both within and outside the district and state.

The scope of this mission's success was not limited solely to Chhattisgarh. The Jutemill police station team recovered a young girl from Jalandhar, Punjab, while the Punjipathra police safely brought back another minor from Ambikapur. Furthermore, missing persons were also successfully traced in areas such as Dabhra and Chandrapur.

Among the various police stations in the district, the performance of the Lailunga police was particularly commendable, as they alone located 42 individuals. This was followed by Chakradharnagar (29 recoveries), Jute Mill (27 recoveries), and Punjipathra (24 recoveries), all of whom successfully reunited individuals with their families. Other police stations, including Kotwali, Pusour, Kotraroad, and Gharghoda, also played an active role in this humanitarian mission.

Notably, in cases involving the abduction or disappearance of minors, the police did not limit their efforts merely to recovery; they also ensured that strict legal action was initiated against the perpetrators under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. This successful campaign has not only bolstered public trust in the police force but has also restored happiness to hundreds of families who had been separated from their loved ones.
