Aadhaar, EPFO, Traffic rules revised

Raipur | Correspondent: Like the first of every month, many rules and procedures have changed since December 1st. These changes can directly impact the daily activities, budgets, and essential services of ordinary people. Therefore, it is important to understand them to avoid any problems later.

Among the significant changes implemented from December 1st are the rules related to Aadhaar. Now, you will be able to update information such as name, address, date of birth, and mobile number in your Aadhaar card online. This information will be verified against PAN, passport, or other government documents. A new version of the Aadhaar card has also been recently launched.

Some states have also made significant changes to traffic rules. Now, if you pay a challan online, additional processing fees may apply. Additionally, if you do not receive your vehicle's PUC certificate, you will have to pay a hefty fine.

The EPFO has also made changes to several of its rules effective December 1st. Some rules related to linking UAN to KYC, updating e-nomination, and monthly pension are now different. If employees haven't updated their nomination, they may face problems later.

In addition, SBI has discontinued its mCash facility from December 1st. Sending or claiming money through mCash will no longer be possible after November 30, 2025. The bank has advised customers to use payment options like UPI, IMPS, NEFT, and RTGS.
