Voting in Britain today, Sunak’s defeat seems certain !

London | Desk: Britain public to determine whether Rishi Sunak will retain his position as Prime Minister or Kier Starmer will surpass him.

Voting is underway for 350 seats in the House of Commons, with 326 seats needed to form a government.

Expectations are leaning towards Sunak’s party moving to the opposition. After 14 years in power, the Conservative government appears poised for a significant defeat. On the eve of the election, Sunak’s Conservative Party has already acknowledged an impending loss to Starmer’s Labour Party, with pre-election surveys indicating a landslide victory for the opposition.

Following the recent redistricting in Britain, the total number of seats has increased by 10. England now has 543 seats, Wales has reduced to 32 seats from 40, and Scotland has decreased from 59 to 57 seats. Northern Ireland remains unchanged with 18 seats.

Voting commenced at 7 am and will continue until 10 pm, with 46 million voters expected to participate. Election results are anticipated by Thursday night or Friday morning.
