Uproar erupts following youth’s death in Kabirdham
Kawardha | Correspondent: In Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district, an enraged mob, in retaliation to a youth’s murder, set a villager on fire and burned him alive.
Reportedly, there was also a confrontation with Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallav, who arrived at the scene after receiving information about the incident.
The incident took place in Lohardih village, under Rengakhaar police station, where the body of a youth, Kachru Sahu, was found hanging.
The villagers, suspecting Raghunath Sahu’s involvement in the murder, attacked his house.
The villagers allegedly attempted to burn Raghunath Sahu’s family alive by setting their house on fire.
Later, the police recovered a body from the charred remains of the house. It is believed to be Raghunath Sahu, who had previously been reported missing by the police.
Upon receiving news of the situation, SP Abhishek Pallav rushed to the village.
It is reported that the villagers attempted to take him hostage, leading to arguments and scuffles.
In response to the violence, more than 400 police personnel have been deployed in the village.
All senior officers, including the SP and Additional SP, are present at the scene.
The villagers involved in the violence are being taken into custody.
