Thunderstorms Expected to Pelt Chhattisgarh
Raipur | Correspondent : India is eagerly awaiting the monsoon season after enduring scorching temperatures exceeding 40°C, even reaching 50°C in some areas.The relentless heat has left the region parched and yearning for relief.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts the southwest monsoon’s imminent arrival, offering hope for relief. Within 2-3 days, rains are expected in South Maharashtra, South Chhattisgarh, and parts of Telangana.

Within the next 2-3 days, life-giving rains are expected to grace parts of South Maharashtra, South Chhattisgarh, and additional regions of Telangana. Though it may take another week for the monsoon to drench northern areas of Central India like Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh, the pre-monsoon showers offer solace, promising respite from the scorching conditions.
A cyclonic circulation over West Uttar Pradesh, along with a trough stretching to East Bangladesh, is poised to bring isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall across Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and Madhya Pradesh over the next five days. These showers will be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kmph.
East Madhya Pradesh, including urban centers like Indore and Bhopal, is under an orange alert from June 6-8 due to the possibility of hailstorms, gusty winds, and thunderstorms. Conversely, Northwest Madhya Pradesh, including cities like Gwalior, may continue to experience heatwave conditions until Monday, June 10.
Meanwhile, Telangana anticipates fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds until the weekend. Heavy rains are also expected in certain parts of the state on Thursday, June 6, providing much-needed relief from the scorching temperatures.
