3 Maoists killed in encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur

Narayanpur | Correspondent: The Chhattisgarh Police have reported killing three suspected Maoists in an encounter in the Maoist-affected region of Narayanpur.

This latest operation brings the total number of suspected Maoists killed in the state this year to approximately 150.

District Superintendent of Police, Prabhat Kumar stated that a joint police team was dispatched to the Maad area, following intelligence reports of Maoist presence along the Narayanpur-Kanker border.

The encounter with the suspected Maoists began around 8 AM.

During the subsequent search operation, the police claimed to have recovered the bodies of three women in uniform from the scene.

It is believed that several other Maoists were injured during the encounter.

The police have confirmed that additional forces have been deployed to the area.
