TS Singhdeo Demands Accountability in Surajpur Double Murder
Raipur | Correspondent: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, TS Singhdeo, has called for accountability in the brutal murders of a police constable’s wife and daughter in Surajpur.
He emphasized that responsibility must be assigned for the crime, questioning how a known criminal, who had been exiled from the district, was able to enter the home of a police officer and commit such a heinous act.
In a press conference in Raipur, Singhdeo pointed out that the accused had been seen attending several public events prior to the incident, including a Durga Saptami program featuring Shahnaz Akhtar. Singhdeo noted that the criminal had been involved in a dispute at that event, where he pushed someone off a roof. Both Kuldeep and Sandeep were present during the altercation, and Kuldeep Sahu fled the scene. Eyewitnesses reported that the accused had frequently brandished a sword during Durga Puja.
Singhdeo raised serious concerns about the law and order situation, asking, “How was an exiled criminal freely roaming the district? Is this the state of policing in Chhattisgarh? Under whose protection was he allowed to participate in public events like Durga Puja?” He also highlighted a shocking incident where the accused allegedly threw a pan of boiling oil at a police officer, in front of a police station no less, demonstrating the administration’s paralysis and inaction.
Singhdeo expressed deep frustration, stating that the administration’s failure allowed this exiled criminal to remain at large, resulting in the tragic double murder of a mother and daughter. He urged that responsibility be fixed for this gross negligence on the part of the police.
