Trainee doctor raped and murdered in Kolkata, outrage spreads
Kolkata | Desk: Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the rape and murder of a female trainee doctor at a government hospital in Kolkata.
The suspect is currently being questioned by authorities.
The tragic incident took place at R.G. Kar Hospital, where the body of the junior doctor was discovered in the seminar hall on the fourth floor.
Initial investigations led the police to suspect that the doctor was raped before being murdered.
According to the police reports, the victim was found with severe injuries including bleeding from her private parts, both eyes, and mouth.
Her neck bone was also fractured, and there were signs of injuries on various parts of her body, including the stomach, legs, neck, hands, and lips.
SIT formed to investigate
The body of a second-year trainee doctor from the Pumonology Department.
Deceased body was found in a semi-nude state in the seminar hall of R.G. Kar Hospital on Friday morning.
Police believe the incident occurred between 3 and 6 a.m.
In response to the seriousness of the case, authorities have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
Father raises serious allegations

He alleged his daughter has been raped and murdered in the hospital premises.
The injury marks over the body are the proof of it.
Yet the hospital management tried hiding the case.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has assured that the case will be fast-tracked in court.
She stated that the government would seek the death penalty for the culprit and involve the CBI in the investigation.
