Suspension of Dr. Puneet Gupta lifted, appointed as OSD
Raipur | Correspondent: Dr. Puneet Gupta, the former superintendent of DKS hospital, who was suspended five years ago on the charges of financial corruption and irregularities in recruitment, has been reinstated.
He has now been positioned as Officer on Special Duty in the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Raipur.
In the recent development, the presenting officer of the ongoing departmental inquiry against Dr. Gupta was replaced on 11th of last month.
Following the change, the suspension was lifted based on the opinion of the newly appointed presenting officer Dr. Amit Kumar Bhardwaj.
Dr. Gupta has been under investigation since May 17, 2019, after a police report was filed against him alleging Rs 50 crores fraud related to procurement of machinery and irregularities in recruitment at Dau Kalyan Singh (DKS) Super Speciality Hospital.
Despite the serious charges, Dr. Gupta who was son-in-law to former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh was neither taken into custody nor was the departmental inquiry concluded during the five-year tenure of the Bhupesh Baghel regime.
