Roof collapse injures five school children in Bastar

Jagdalpur | Correspondent: Five school children from the second and fourth grades were injured on Thursday when the plaster ceiling of a primary school in Chhote Gudra, Darbha area of Bastar, collapsed.

The incident caused a stir in the school, and the injured children were immediately taken to the Tokapal Primary Health Center. All five children are now out of danger and are being treated at the Tokapal Community Health Center.

The accident occurred due to a shortage of teachers, which led to all the children being made to study in one room. Heavy rain caused a part of the roof to break and fall on the children.

Following the incident, parents were informed and rushed to the hospital. Chitrakoot MLA Vinayak Goyal and Bastar Collector Vijay Dayaram also visited the hospital to see the children.

The collector has ordered an investigation into the matter.
