J & K Passes Resolution Seeking Full Statehood Restoration

Jammu | Correspondent: The new cabinet of the Jammu and Kashmir government, led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, has passed a resolution advocating for the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

On Saturday, the cabinet passed a resolution urging the central government to grant full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

A statement issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Information Department stated that the Chief Minister will visit New Delhi in the coming days to meet with the Prime Minister and Union Ministers regarding this matter.

The cabinet has also decided to convene a session of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on November 4. A request has been made to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, asking him to address the session.

During the recent assembly elections, regional parties consistently demanded the restoration of full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir.

The alliance of the National Conference and Congress secured a majority in the assembly elections, after which Omar Abdullah took the oath as the new Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
