Leopard and Bear skins, Elephant tusks seized in Balrampur

Ambikapur | Correspondent: The forest department in Surguja, Chhattisgarh has seized two elephant tusks, two leopard skins and a bear skin from hunters in a significant operation.

Five individuals including two hunters have been detained in the case.

Sources reveal the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh Forest Department had received information that a group of hunters was preparing to sell elephant tusks and skins.

Following which the forest department formed a team to apprehend the suspects.

This team was on the trail of the hunters since Friday morning.

After this, the team initiating the operations on Friday morning tracked hunters in the Wadrafnagar area of Balrampur district.

After arresting two hunters, the team interrogated them and identified three more people, who were then detained.
