ED took two on remand in Chhattisgarh liquor scam
Raipur. Correspondent: In the highly publicized liquor scam in Chhattisgarh, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Arvind Singh and Trilok Singh Dhillon.
Both accused were already in Raipur jail.
The ED shared this information on social media on Thursday, stating that the arrests were made on July 1. Following this, a special court has sent both individuals to ED custody until July 6.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought up the issue of Chhattisgarh’s liquor scam in the Rajya Sabha.
He criticized the Congress and AAP alliance, saying, “In Chhattisgarh, the liquor scam was linked to the Chief Minister of the Congress government. The AAP party used to loudly demand that the ED and CBI take action and imprison this Chief Minister. They used to request the ED to take this action openly. They seem to like the ED very much.”
It is important to note that in Chhattisgarh, the ED has registered a case of a liquor scam worth several hundred crores against officials and leaders of the then Congress government. According to the charges, liquor was being sold using fake holograms, causing a significant loss of revenue to the government.
