Raipur | Correspondent: The decapitated body of a 10-year-old boy, a class 5 student, was found in the Balangi police station area of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, Chhattisgarh. The boy had been missing for five days.
There is initial suspicion that the case may involve a ritualistic sacrifice.
In recent days, several alleged sacrifice-related cases have surfaced in Chhattisgarh.
According to police, Brijesh Kumar Pal, the 10-year-old son of Ashok Pal from Torfa village, went missing on the evening of September 2 while playing outside his house. After an extensive search, his family filed a missing person report.
Brijesh’s body was later discovered on the banks of the Moran River, just 500 meters from his home. His throat had been slit.
While the villagers suspect this to be a ritual sacrifice, police are still investigating. An official statement will be made after the postmortem report is released.
