Chhattisgarh is in turmoil-Deepak Baij

Raipur | Correspondent: The Congress Party has launched its “Chhattisgarh Nyay Yatra”, commencing from the religious site of the Satnami samaj in Girodpuri on Friday. The yatra is set to conclude in Raipur on October 2.

While inaugurating the yatra, Chhattisgarh Congress President Deepak Baij stated that the entire state is in turmoil. He highlighted the recent violence in Kabirdham as evidence of the government’s inaction, emphasizing that the state administration is indifferent to the crisis. Baij also called for a murder charge to be filed against police officers involved in the recent custodial death case.

He accused the state government of a complete breakdown in maintaining law and order, pointing to incidents such as the Amar Gufa Jaitkham vandalism, the Baloda Bazaar violence, the arrest of MLA Devendra Yadav, and the Kawardha unrest. These events, he claimed, have exposed the true face of the current regime.

Baij further stated that beyond exposing the government’s failures, the Congress Party aims to secure justice for those suffering under the state’s oppressive policies.

Earlier in the day, Baij sought blessings from Lord Shri Ram and Mata Shabari at Shivrinarayan, and later paid tribute to martyr Veer Narayan Singh in Sonakhan.

Several prominent Congress leaders, including former Deputy Chief Minister TS Singhdeo, Leader of the Opposition Charan Das Mahant, Mohan Markam, Prem Sai Singh Tekam, Phulo Devi Netam, Gurudayal Banjare, and Atal Srivastava, accompanied Baij at the launch of the yatra.

Today’s leg of the yatra will proceed through Amodi and Chhachhi, reaching Kasdol by the end of the day. On Saturday, the yatra will continue to Rohansi, passing through Lavan, Kumhari, and Saloni, with an overnight stop at Rohansi.

The journey will resume on the third day, heading towards Bhainsa via Odan, Latera, and Khartora. On the fourth day, the yatra will reach Saragaon via Math, and on the fifth day, it will proceed to Saddu via Tarra Mod and Semriya.

The final leg will begin from Saddu and culminate at Gandhi Maidan in Raipur, passing through Mowa, Shastri Chowk, and Moti Bagh.
