Sanskrit, Theatre, Urdu awards missing in State foundation day

Raipur | Correspondent: On Chhattisgarh State Foundation Day, the award for contributions to the field of Sanskrit was not conferred. Similarly, the state government did not present the Haji Hasan Ali Award, which recognizes contributions to the Urdu language, this year.

In addition, the Culture Department had invited applications from theatre artists for the award established in honor of the famous theatre artist Habib Tanvir. However, this award was also not given to anyone this year.

Since its separation from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh has been honoring outstanding individuals for their continuous contributions in various fields every year.

On the occasion of the state’s Foundation Day celebrations, Chhattisgarh recognizes and celebrates these achievements by conferring awards.

Departments invite applications from individuals who have made significant contributions in different fields across the state, and selections are made by various juries.

This year, the state government honored individuals in 36 different categories. However, discussions continue regarding the decision not to award the Sanskrit, theatre, and Urdu recognitions.
