Amit Shah: Government Adopts Aggressive Stance on Naxalism

New Delhi | Desk: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that our government has adopted an aggressive policy against Naxalism by changing the defensive policy. He said that the success of the campaign against Naxalites is unprecedented. Shah was holding a meeting in Delhi on Monday to end Naxalism.

CM and top officials of 8 states of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Odisha, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh are included in the meeting.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and Deputy CM Vijay Sharma along with Chief Secretary and DGP were also present in this meeting held at Vigyan Bhavan.

Union Minister Shah praised Chhattisgarh government for the operation on September 4. 31 Maoists were killed in this operation. Amit Shah said that the government is doing a better job on the Naxal front. Chhattisgarh government has launched a new dimension of development. The government has also stopped the financial support of Naxalites.

He said- success in Chhattisgarh is an inspiration for all of us. A new development campaign has been launched in all Naxal affected areas. Its purpose is to deliver the benefit of the state government and central government schemes to the people. As a result, schools and cheap grain shops have opened in the villages.

Shah said – Some villagers voted in the Lok Sabha elections after 30 years. Since 2019, 280 new camps have been created, 15 new joint forces have been created. Six new CRPF battalions have been sent to help the police in different states.

Amit Shah said- 194 naxalites have been killed in an encounter in Chhattisgarh since January this year. 801 naxalites were arrested and 742 naxalites have surrendered. He said that even today the youth who are involved in Naxalism are urged to drop their arms and join the mainstream.

While praising the successful operation in Chhattisgarh, Shah said to the Chief Ministers of other states- Intelligence of Chhattisgarh can carry out operations in their respective states on the basis of technical and mutual coordination. The central government is committed to provide all possible assistance to Chhattisgarh and other Naxal-affected states.

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai gave information about the latest Naxal operation in the meeting. He said that the operation was carried out after months of hard work and planning by the police and intelligence agencies. About 1000 soldiers were involved in the operation, who surrounded the Gawadi mountain located within a radius of 15 km and killed 31 Naxalites.

CM Sai said that development work has been accelerated in Naxal affected areas. We are continuously providing basic facilities to villages, with special focus on education, health, and women empowerment. 32 new camps have been established in core areas of Naxalites.

The Chief Minister said that we have also set up a camp in the village of Naxalite battalion commander Hidma. Health facilities are also provided to his mother. The main goal of the state government is to eliminate the remaining strongholds of Naxalites and ensure permanent peace and development. In the near future, 29 new security camps will be established in South Bastar.
