Donald Trump wins US elections
US | Desk: Donald Trump elected as the President of United States of America defeating rival Kamala Harris making a remarkable comeback after four years.
Trump securing a total of 273 electoral votes while Harris received a total of 219 electoral votes.
Trump has won four of the seven swing states in America including Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
With a total of 538 electoral votes in the U.S. Electoral College, a minimum of 270 votes is required to secure a majority.
Georgia and North Carolina each contribute 16 electoral votes, while Pennsylvania holds the highest among these states, with 19 electoral votes.
The remaining swing states were Nevada, Michigan, and Arizona.
World leaders congratulate Trump on historic second-term win
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump on social media platform X.
He said, Heartiest congratulations my friend on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership. Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability and prosperity.

Similarly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended his best wishes congratulating Donald Trump and his wife Melania on their victory amid the counting of votes in the US presidential election.
Netanyahu wrote on Instagram, “Congratulations on the biggest comeback in history. Your historic return to the White House is a new beginning for America. It reiterates a powerful commitment to the great alliance of Israel and America. This is a huge victory. Your true friends. Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu.”
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulated US presidential candidate Donald Trump on Wednesday.
Shahbaz Sharif posted on social media platform X, “Congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump on his historic victory for a second term! I look forward to working closely with the incoming administration to strengthen and broaden Pakistan-US relations.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, “Congratulations to Donald Trump on his landslide victory in the election.”
Zelensky wrote in a post on social media platform X, “I remember the wonderful meeting I had with President Trump in September. During this time, we discussed the Ukraine-US strategic partnership, the Victory Plan and ways to end Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. We appreciate Trump’s commitment to ‘peace through strength’ in global affairs. This is the same principle that can bring Ukraine closer to peace. I hope we will accomplish this together.”
