Class 12th student abducted and gang raped

Surajpur | Correspondent: A recent case of brutal murder is still not settled, meanwhile a case of gang rape of a 12th class student has come to light in the Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh.

The accused had reportedly kidnapped the student and taken her to the forest, where they gang-raped her. While, after the incident, the body of the main accused was also found hanging from a noose.

on the other hand, family of the victim have alleged police officials for not filing the complaint on time following which the treatment got delayed.

According to the police, the incident is of Ramanuj Nagar police station.

A student of 12th grade along with her friends had gone to witness the Dusshera program to the Srinagar town.

While watching the cultural program after Ravana Dahan, the victim student met Kanta Singh, a young man who was her classmate in class 9th and 10th.

While the duo was talking, the girl asked Singh for a glass of water.

Now, as per the family, the youth went to shop to get water and mixed something in the water bottle and offered the girl.

Upon drinking water, the girl started feeling dizzy. Seeing this, the girl’s friends decided to drop her home.

However, Kanta reached and said he will drop the victim girl to her home and took her along with him.

But, instead of dropping her home, Singh took her to the jungle outside the village.

Later 5 more of his friends joined him, and all of them raped her.

It is reported that the accused also beat up the girl fiercly and tried killing her by strangulating her.

When the girl fainted, all the accused thought she was dead and ran away.

Police under scrutiny for failing to file incident report

When the girl failed to return home that night, her family began searching for her.

The following morning, she arrived home and recounted her experience to her family. On Monday, they took her to the Ramanujnagar police station to file a report.

However, the family alleged that the police refused to file the report.

In response, the police stated that the girl had only reported the assault, which led to a case being registered against Kanta Singh.

The police also mentioned that the student and her family were heading to Ambikapur to provide information regarding a gang rape allegation.

Based on this information, the case will be investigated, and appropriate action will be taken upon receiving the report.

The victim’s family explained that they initially took the student to Srinagar for treatment, but later went to Surajpur Hospital, where she could not be treated due to the absence of a police report.

Subsequently, they sought treatment at Medical College Ambikapur, where she was also denied care.

Singhdeo intervenes, Congress demands arrest

Meanwhile, former Deputy Chief Minister T.S. Singhdeo became aware of the incident and contacted IG Ankit Garg.

Following this, the police registered the student’s complaint, and the victim began receiving medical treatment.

Singhdeo also spoke with the Dean of the Medical College to gather information about the student’s treatment.

In a parallel development, the Congress party has called for the immediate arrest of the accused and warned of potential protests if the suspects are not apprehended within three days.
