Policemen caught spying on their own Superintendent

Rajasthan | Desk: A group of Policemen including Constables and Sub-Inspector were allegedly found spying on women Superintendent of Police in Bhiwadi city of Khairthal district of Rajasthan.

This misconduct was revealed when SP Jyeshtha Maitrei received a tip-off about the actions of the cyber cell personnel. After looking into it, she confirmed the claims.

Following the revelation, SP took immediate action by suspending the involved officers, which included constables and a sub-inspector.

An investigation has been initiated to determine who directed these officers to engage in this behavior, with a Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) officer assigned to the case.

Authorities suspect that the policemen may have acted under the influence of another officer in the district.

The Director General of Police, UR Sahu, stated that a thorough investigation is underway and that appropriate action will be taken against anyone found complicit in this wrongdoing.

Who is SP Jyeshtha Maitrei

Jyeshtha Maitrei, originally from Guna, Madhya Pradesh, passed the Civil Services Examination in 2017.

She began her career in the Rajasthan cadre in 2018 as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Udaipur. She has held various roles, including ASP in Bhilwara and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime in Jaipur.

After serving as SP in Sirohi and Kotputli-Baharod, she was recently appointed as the SP of Bhiwadi, where she also oversees the additional charge of Khairthal-Tijara.
